THE BRAND
Gestech is a small family owned business based in England, which was formed in 2021 during the pandemic.
Having been made furloughed in march 2020, i used my spare time by helping the local elderly and supplying companies with face masks using my 3D Printer.
I joined a group with other enthusiasts so we could supply for key workers. We made over 5000 masks over the 5 months period.
Unfortunately, during this time i was unfairly made redundant in a job sector that i’ve worked & loved for over 25 years and with me being the only bread winner & Family of 5 i needed to act fast.
So with my 3d printer at hand, my passion for designing products & with the help of the government scheme..... GESTECH was created”
THE DESIGNER/OWNER
Hi :) my name is Alfie and i am designer and owner of Gestech Ltd.
My passion for designing started when i was about 11 years old and i remember i designed my own go cart and built this in the garden using my dads tools, i remember i took apart my sisters bike for the wheels, she wasnt happy :) from then on i had the passion of designing and making products and i even joined the high school designing team in 1994 which we won 1st place for a product designed for cyclists , it was a carbon monoxide detector.
After finishing school i knew i wanted to be a product designer, so i joined college to study Product design, unfortunately my mother was very ill and she passed and i never completed the 2nd year. My father needed help to support my siblings so i ended up in a job sector for over 25 years up until i was made redundant. and now im trying to reignite back my passion :)
